day two / two fools

Every other year, my school puts on a musical. I was in musicals in high school, so I jumped at the chance to participate in this one. I thought, as a teacher, I would have a tiny-in-the-background-and-whisper-lines-to-the-children kind of part. Instead, I was "cast" as one of the Divine Sisters - the musical entertainment on the cruise ship in the play. My "sisters" included one of my 5th grade students and a (60+ year old) woman from the community. It was hilarious to say the least.

My "sisters" and I:

Christopher, being the honey* that he is, offered to help me learn my lines. He insisted on singing all of the songs in the script, including the ones that were in scenes I wasn't in. He had no idea what they sounded like, but he felt it was helpful in the learning of my lines.

As you can see, he also gave the characters accents. Weird? Yup. Adorable? Obviously.

*Honey was actually the character in the play to sing this song. Oh, Christopher.

What I wore...Day 2.

  1. I love the outfit - are you wearing a necklace or is the embellishment part of the shirt (either way, it's gorgeous and what a deal!)?

  2. I've always wondered how that particular tights would look like when worn. Not bad! I think it adds more character to the outfit. Plus, you totally lucked out on that shirt. Pretty!

  3. It's so cool that you're a teacher with style. Most teachers at my job wear sweats and jeans everyday. Granted I'm part of the math department and we're known for being quirky, but still, there's no reason to look like a slob. Kudos for being for so fashionable.
